Runte and
Christensen Repeat Performance
Del Rio, TX –
The Monsters of Destruction National Monster Truck
Series filled the Val Verde Fairgrounds to capacity
for the second straight night and again displayed
the best monster truck racing in monster trucks to
date. Dan Runte in his #88 Summit Bigfoot dominated
Straight Line Drags and repeated his Round 3
performance and took home first place again in Round
4. He was magic on the light tree averaging a .088
reaction time in all Straight Line Drag races. He
would face the #01 Dragon Slayer in the finals and
run the fastest time all weekend with a 2.360 second
pass.
Christensen
and his #01 Dragon Slayer would continue to dominate
the Chicago Style races. Christensen would face
Kelvin Ramer in the #18 Natural High after Runte in
the #88 Bigfoot cut a tire in the heat races and
could not compete in the semi-finals which gave
Ramer a bye run into the finals.
“It’s
unfortunate that we cut a tire here tonight”
explained Dan Runte, driver of the #88 Summit
Bigfoot. “We were on a roll and wanted to double up
tonight and take home both trophies but it just
didn’t work out.”
Christensen
would run a 15.467 second pass and Ramer would post
a 18.121 second pass in the finals of Chicago Style
Racing.
“Chicago Style
is one of my favorite types of courses to race”,
said Christensen. “It takes a lot of throttle timing
and braking to post a fast time and we did it
consistently all weekend.”
